Dance Education Hits the Streets of Dubai!
Encore Dubai, launched by the UDO, will aim to encourage all of you to get your toes tapping all weekend, at Dubai’s Gems Wellington Dance Academy.
Set to take place February next year, celebrity dancers from So You Think You Can Dance, Britain’s Got Talent and Got to Dance will all be there. Teaching dance workshops in street dance, hip hop and contemporary. The medley of star dancers include Twist & Pulse, Lukas McFarlane, members of Flawless and many more. The cool factor takes over at this event, with more locking, popping and beat-bopping than you can shake a stick at.
But if street dance isn’t your thing, don’t worry, Encore Dubai promises an all-inclusive dance education. From Bollywood to Ballet, the Encore weekend really does have a dance style for everyone to enjoy. The event is also open to ages 6+, so makes for a perfect family fun day.
Jam-packed into the weekend will include: Celebrity dance workshops, meet and greet, Q & A sessions, a certificate of participation PLUS a ticket to the LIVE evening show. Phew.
Simon Dibley, CEO of the UDO, said “It’s so exciting to bring Encore to the youth of Dubai! The demand just keeps rising for this event, as young dancers are keen to get expert advice from their dance role models. It’s a unique opportunity to give young people the chance to get active, whilst learning new dance styles that they love.”
Over 1000 of our UDO members took part in Encore Weekend UK in November and this will be the first time that Encore will be launching abroad in Dubai, Silicon Oasis.
Glen Murphy (Twist & Pulse), runner up of ITV’s hit show Britain’s Got Talent, said “The talent of these kids today is amazing! I’m constantly impressed by all the performances at Encore and am looking forward to seeing what dancers in Dubai can do!”
Encore Dubai weekend will be on 6th and 7th February 2015. Tickets are available for 570 AED per person and can be booked on the Encore website or call UDO head office on +44 (0)2920 799199 for more information.
